Malaysia 2000 Tour

Since 1990 Alasdair Monteith has been taking his students - of all levels - to Malaysia to train with Master Teng Wie Yoo of  the Northern Shaolin Chin Woo Wushu Centre. These trips have established excellent relations with Chin Woo Associations all over Malaysia. You too can take one of these trips of a lifetime.  To make it more affordable we are now taking deposits for August 2000 and August 2001.

What Will The Trip Involve?

Master Teng Wie Yoo will be our host and main Chin Woo tutor. Beginners through to senior grades will be taught open hand and weapon routines along with their many applications. Two-person open hand and weapon routines will also be on the schedule. We will be returning to our friends at Malacca Chin Woo to train and exchange with the Master Tan and his students. After our hugely successful 1999 visit, Master Siow and his 3 time World Lion Dance Champions, have invited us back to train and learn the Southern Lion Dance. In addition, we are also arranging a 3 day excursion to Singapore Chin Woo.

A new addition to this years trip is the opportunity to learn Chinese Medicine and massage from Mr Yap, who is the son of the infamous Yap brothers.  The Yap brothers were the men who established the Chin Woo system in Malaysia.

As the old saying goes "All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy". That's why there will be plenty of opportunity to tour and experience the Malaysian Peninsular including temples, museums, Chinatown and it's spectacular markets, the worlds tallest tower, and Merdeka Square (as seen in "Police Story 3"). Malacca's a beautiful naval town, Singapore's a famous harbour. This combined with LOADS of cheap shopping will make this a trip to remember. Accomodation is clean and safe. During your stay in Kuala Lumpar, you'll be staying in one of Malaysia's finest 5 star hotels - The Regent.

Perhentian Island

The last 5 days of the trip will be spent on a tropical paradise island that's sure to beat any excursion going, bar none.

Perhentian Island is situated off the east coast of Malaysia in the crystal clear waters of the South China Sea. This island is the ideal place to let your body relax and your mind escape from the pressures of modern life. White sandy beaches, beautiful corals, fascinating marine life and stunning jungle are just some of the highlights of the resort. There will also be the opportunity to take a 4 day PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Qulification.

If you would like to go on this trip of a lifetime we will need a non-refundable deposit of £250.00 by 31st January 2000.  The balance of £2550.00 will need to be paid by 20th July 2000 (total = £2800.00*) for the 2000 tour. For the 2001 tour, the full amount will need to be paid by 20th July 2001. Payments must be paid through our direct debit scheme.

This is a training holiday, not a holiday with a bit of training thrown in. This trip is open to everyone at all levels. This is a fantastic chance to train in the far east under the guidance of some excellent Masters, as well as experiencing the culture that Wushu offers.

Still not convinced? Check out the gallery section for highlights of the 1999 trip to Malaysia.

* Cost is based on a 4 week trip. A fortnight trip is also available for £1800 minus some excursions. Please call for option to stay more than 4 weeks. Prices quoted are subject to change due to fluctuating exchange rates. The London Chin Woo Company reserve the right to change published details without prior notice.
